Victorian Painted Letter Rack.

A charming Victorian painted wooden postal wall rack, retaining its original rich oxblood-red paint and hand-lettered decoration, making it both a practical piece and a wonderful example of late 19th-century post office memorabilia.

The rack features two generous compartments, clearly labelled “Post” and “Delivery”, together with the original hinged compartment above, inscribed “Money or Stamps”,  The initials “V R” (Victoria Regina) remain prominently painted to either side, denoting its use during Queen Victoria’s reign.

Displaying superb untouched surface wear, the paint has mellowed beautifully over time, developing an authentic patina that only decades of everyday use can create. The honest signs of age.
