First World War Russian Bear Skin Coat.

A remarkable and imposing full-length coat crafted from richly coloured bear skin, featuring a striking wolf skin shawl collar. The coat displays a wonderful range of natural tones, from deep chocolate and black through to warm russet and golden highlights, giving it exceptional visual depth and character. According to its accompanying history, the coat was acquired in 1917 on the Khyber Pass, where it was exchanged by a fleeing Russian officer and subsequently presented to an English Major serving with the British Indian Army during the First World War.
