Large Late 19th Century Thorley’s Food Enamel Advertising Sign

A superb and highly decorative late 19th century enamel advertising sign for Thorley’s Food, executed on a grand scale and retaining excellent period character. Measuring approximately 3 foot by 4 foot, the sign features bold cobalt blue lettering against a crisp white ground, centred with a striking image of a galloping horse and the original advertising slogan:

“Try Thorley’s for your horse one month and note results.”

Thorley’s was renowned during the Victorian period for producing patented horse and livestock feed supplements, and surviving enamel signs of this size are increasingly sought after for their strong visual impact and agricultural advertising appeal.
