19Th Century Saddle Horse.
£450.00
A charming and highly unusual 19th century saddle horse, traditionally constructed for the storage and display of a riding saddle, beautifully made in pitch pine with sturdy oak feet. Of simple yet handsome country-house form, the stand features a pitched, roof-shaped top designed to comfortably support a saddle, raised on robust square supports joined by stretchers for strength and stability.
Adding considerable equestrian character is the decorative cast iron horseshoe hook mounted to one end, providing a practical place to hang bridles, reins, or riding accessories. The richly patinated timber displays attractive wear and surface character accumulated through years of use.
