19Th Century Copper Copper.
£450.00
A superb and substantial 19th-century Welsh dairy copper, traditionally used on a rural Welsh dairy farm, and most likely employed in the making of butter or other dairy production. Hand-crafted in heavy gauge copper, this impressive vessel has developed a truly exceptional verdigris patina, with rich natural oxidisation across the surface giving it remarkable colour, texture and authenticity.
Of particularly large scale, measuring nearly one metre wide, the copper possesses wonderful presence and sculptural quality, making it equally suitable as a decorative statement piece, planter, log bin or interior feature. The softly shaped oval form and hand-worked rolled rim speak to its honest agricultural origins and years of practical use.
Displaying beautiful wear and age consistent with a hardworking life in a traditional Welsh setting, this is a striking piece of 19th-century country dairy history with tremendous decorative appeal.
