19Th Century High Shop Stool.

£180.00

A handsome and characterful 19th-century tall shop stool, originally from a haberdashery shop, beautifully constructed in a combination of beech and mahogany. Of classic utilitarian form, the stool stands on four gently tapering legs united by shaped stretchers, with a solid square seat above, designed for practical everyday use in a working retail environment.

Displaying a wonderfully rich patina acquired through decades of honest use, the stool has exceptional surface colour and texture throughout. In particular, the stretchers show fantastic wear, beautifully polished by years of foot traffic, adding tremendous authenticity and charm to the piece.
