Early 19Th Century Whale Bone Walking Stick.


A fine and rare early 19th century mariner’s walking stick with turk’s knot finial below carved from one piece of whales bone which has a beautiful  carved tapering wrythen spiral twist, at the top of the shaft just below the turks knot is a diamond pattern inset with baleen. at the base of the stick is small brass finial. The stick is in perfect condition.

Provenance : Bought privately from a family in  South Wales with a long maritime history going back six generations.
