Late 19th-Century Anglo-Indian Side Table in the Manner of the Bombay Furniture Company
A fine late 19th-century Anglo-Indian side table, in the manner of the Bombay Furniture Company, crafted from high-quality exotic teakwood with a rich, warm reddish-brown patina.
The  top features elegantly shaped, gently serpentine edges with a moulded and polished perimeter. The table is supported by four slender, slightly tapering legs, beneath which is a useful lower shelf. Particularly striking is the elaborately carved and pierced apron, decorated with scrolling foliage, stylised leaves and floral motifs in the distinctive manner associated with the finest Anglo-Indian furniture produced for the European market.
Circa 1880–1900.
