19Th Century Taxidermy Study.
£325.00
19th-century taxidermy study in a glazed black display case, containing a small pale stoat or weasel posed among dried moss, grasses, and kingfisher. The specimen is arranged as a Victorian natural history diorama, with a painted pale woodland backdrop and layered dried vegetation creating depth. The case has a scalloped Gothic-style crest along the top, corner finials, black lacquered framing, and a deep plinth base, typical of decorative cabinet taxidermy from the late 1800s. The overall condition shows age-related wear, dust, softened details, and faded organic materials.
