WWII-period Tilley Floodlight Projectors.
£750.00
A rare pair of original WWII-period Tilley Floodlight Projectors, manufactured by the Tilley Lamp Company of Hendon, England.
Each projector comprises a substantial black-painted steel pressure-lamp body surmounted by a large circular, armoured glass lens and parabolic reflector, with adjustable side-mounted fittings and original carrying/mounting arrangements. The lamps retain their original Tilley – Floodlight Projector – Made at Hendon, England manufacturer’s labels, together with the registration number 762129.
Designed to burn paraffin under pressure, these powerful portable floodlights were capable of producing several thousand candle-power and projecting a concentrated beam over a considerable distance. Such lamps were particularly associated with wartime airfields, military installations, railway and engineering works, where powerful portable illumination was required.
