A Rare Anglo Indian Lacquer Floor Lamp.

A rare early 20Th Century Anglo Indian floor lamp from Dera  Ismail Khan in the Punjab (presently In Pakistan) made from lacquered turnery in wood and decorated in camel bone circles and floral decoration in a wonderful black and white and red lacquer.

Dera Ismail Khan was famous handicraft area and renowned for its considerable artistic merit, this lamp is a very unusual example and rare to find such a large piece most of there work consisted of small items such as spices boxes and turned vessels which can be found at the Victoria & Albert museum London (IS.2377-1883)
