19Th Century Taxidermy Zebra Head.

Late 19th century taxidermy zebra (Equus quagga) head mount set on a oak board with ebonised boarder. This zebra is what I think is called the mountain zebra ie brown & white which I believe is the rarer bread of Zebra.

What is know as “Country House Condition” its not perfect ears are a little frayed and the back of neck has slightly opened up but when hung on a wall she looks quite presentable, this is a late Victorian example and has had a life !
