19Th Century Aesthetic Movement Wall Bracket.

A rare and very beautiful 19th century English aesthetic movement folding wall bracket with a wonderful fusion of design and styles crossing over from  William Morris floral patterns and colours to traditional islamic design, exquisitely had painted  unusual motifs almost like floral Egyptian hieroglyphs painted on the top panels. The wall bracket when dismounted the centre shelve can be folded flat and shahjehan arches are all hinged to fold flat probably for travelling purpose.

The aesthetic movement was a late nineteenth century movement that championed pure beauty and ‘art for art’s sake’ emphasising the visual and sensual qualities of art and design over practical, moral or narrative considerations.
